BC Apprenticeship Funding & Grants

Earn while you learn. Discover over $4,000 in non-repayable grants, EI training allowances, and interest-free loans available to BC trades apprentices.

Overview: How Apprenticeship Funding Works in British Columbia

In BC, an apprenticeship combines approximately 80–85% paid on-the-job training with 15–20% in-school technical training. During classroom weeks, you can receive regular Employment Insurance (EI), interest-free federal loans up to $4,000, and provincial living allowances. Upon advancing through each level and reaching Red Seal certification, you receive up to $4,000 in cumulative direct government grants.
