<p>Engineering Service Business Unit focuses on power system software development, power system and substation consulting studies and compliance testing services, as well as asset management solutions for electric utilities and other clients in power industry.</p><p>We are the vendor of the cutting-edge power system analysis software package, DSATools™, which has been recognized globally as leading-edge technologies and software platforms for dynamic security assessment of large complex power systems for both off-line (system planning) and on-line applications (near-real-time operation).</p><p>We are also one of primary power system consulting teams well recognized internationally.</p><p>We are providing a full spectrum of study services from fast electromagnetic transient switching studies, to typical power system planning and operation studies (including transient, small-signal, voltage, and frequency stabilities), post-mortem investigation of system disturbances and events, generation and load interconnection studies, generator including wind and solar renewables, and load model development or validation via field testing, and to NERC compliance studies (e.g., TPL, PRC, MOD, CIP, etc.).</p><p>We are also equipped with a Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) for evaluating and testing new control, protection, and communication schemes and devices.</p><p>The Senior Power System Modelling Engineer will perform model validation and control tuning for generation plants, including wind, solar, and energy storage systems, as well as conducting validation and simulation studies in compliance with NERC and other applicable reliability standards.</p><p>Key responsibilities include :  Reviewing power plant technical documentation and prepare unit-specific test plans in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements Conducting power system simulation studies aligned with NERC and other reliability standards Preparing detailed engineering reports communicating methodologies, analysis, and findings Performing peer reviews of technical reports to ensure quality and compliance Travel to industrial and power generation sites globally to perform onsite generator model validation testing Developing technical proposals, including scope, cost estimates, and project schedules Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution Remote work is acceptable, provided deliverables meet expectations QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems strongly preferred); Bachelor’s degree with direct & relevant experience will be considered Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) or other jurisdictions.</p><p>At least 5 years of work experience in power system transient stability studies, protection & control, or related post-grad research  Strong knowledge and understanding of generator and renewable modeling, power system and/or substation protections, and control systems of synchronous generators, renewables, FACTs, etc.</p><p>Knowledge and demonstrated experiences in power plant (thermal, solar, wind, BESS, etc.) power flow, dynamic and short circuit analysis using simulation software (PSCAD, DSATools, PSS/E, PSLF, ASPEN, ETAP, etc.).</p><p>Knowledge and demonstrated experiences in power plant and generator protection and control theory and practice on relay instruments (SEL, Beckwith, GE Multilin, etc.).</p><p>Experiences on site commissioning and testing including regular field work following procedures, data collection using digital DAQ systems, control equipment function and communication troubleshooting, safety training and awareness, considered as an asset Must hold a valid class 5 BC driver’s license or equivalent.  Willing and e ligible to work and travel in US for site testing Job Status: Full-Time Regular Job

<p>The Engineering Service Business Unit focuses on power system software development, power system and substation consulting studies and compliance testing services for electric utilities and other clients in power industry.</p><p>We are the vendor of the cutting-edge power system analysis software package, DSATools™, recognized globally as leading-edge software platforms for dynamic security assessment of complex power systems for both off-line (system planning) and on-line applications (near-real-time operation).</p><p>Our team provides a full spectrum of study services from fast electromagnetic transient switching studies, power system planning and operation studies (including transient, small-signal, voltage, and frequency stabilities), post-mortem investigation of system disturbances and events, generation and load interconnection studies, generator including wind and solar renewables, and load model development or validation via field testing, and to NERC compliance studies (e.g., TPL, FAC, PRC, MOD, CIP, etc.).</p><p>We have an exciting opportunity for up to 2 Study Engineers to join our team of highly experienced power system study experts and specialists.</p><p>In this role, the successful candidate will take on the following key responsibilities: Perform power flow, short-circuit, contingency, transfer, and stability studies, including transient, small-signal, voltage, and frequency stability assessments.</p><p>Conduct bulk power system studies using industry-standard software tools.</p><p>Carry out advanced and specialized studies using tools such as PSS®E, DSATools, and PSCAD.</p><p>Support and contribute to model development, including generation, load, transmission, and transformer modeling.</p><p>Develop and recommend system upgrade strategies and mitigation plans to address system constraints and reliability issues.</p><p>Establish, review, and enhance transmission planning and study methodologies and processes.</p><p>Prepare technical study reports, including model validation reports required for regulatory compliance.</p><p>Present study results and reports to clients.</p><p>Assist with proposal development in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) and help define scopes of work to meet client needs.</p><p>Participate in the development and testing of new software releases.</p><p>Qualifications * Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university with a focus on Power Systems including Power systems analysis, Modeling techniques, and computational algorithms.</p><p>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.</li><li>* At the senior level,  at least 8 years of experience in electrical engineering is required, with expertise in power system planning and operational studies, power system research, software development for power system analysis, and customer support.</li><li>  New graduates have an interest in power system analysis and simulation and eligible for immedaiate registration as EITs and are encouraged to apply.</li><li>* Strong understanding of power system studies, including stability, fault analysis, and EMT simulations.</li><li>* Registered (or able to immediately register) as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).</li><li>  * For senior-level candidates, at least 8 years of experience in electrical engineering is required, with expertise in power system planning and operational studies, power system research, software development for power system analysis, and customer support.</p><p>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.</li><li>* New graduates have an interest in power system analysis and simulation and eligible for immedaiate registration as EITs and are encouraged to apply.</p><p>The following skills, abilities, and competencies are associated with success in this role: * Solid knowledge of power system modeling and analytical methods, includin
